S.O.B's - Kimball
About This Spot
Stepping into S.O.B's on Main Street in Kimball, you're greeted with the kind of warmth that feels like a familiar old cabin in the woods, where wood-panel walls and well-loved booths invite you to settle in and linger. The atmosphere hums with a comfortable nostalgia, punctuated by the steady beat of classic 80s and 90s tunes that play unapologetically in the background. It’s a relaxed neighborhood bar & grill where the pace slows down enough to truly savor the moment, whether you’re new in town or one of the locals exchanging knowing nods across the room.
The mood here is unpretentious and inviting, a space where smiles come easy and conversation flows naturally. The lighting softens the edges of a busy day, making it feel just right for catching up with friends or quietly watching the rhythm of small-town life through the windows. There’s a sense that this place holds stories — from families gathering on a chilly evening to folks stopping in after a day’s work to unwind over familiar comfort food.
Speaking of food, it arrives as a crucial part of the experience, crafted not just to fill you up but to conjure a kind of comfort you didn’t know you were seeking. Burgers layered with melted cheese and bacon, crisp fries golden with just the right amount of salt, or chicken tenders whose crunch carries that satisfying homemade texture — every plate tastes like a memory waiting to be made. Pair your meal with a mixed drink or a cold beer, poured by staff who know their regulars and newcomers alike, attentive yet never hovering.
Despite its modest size and unflashy setting, this bar & grill plays a quiet role in the community’s rhythm, holding its own as a gathering spot when a snowstorm sweeps through or on those perfect summer nights when the porch lights glow warmly against a twilight sky. S.O.B’s is the kind of place where neighbors meet, stories are shared, and the simple joy of a good meal and good company unfolds naturally.

We stopped a couple on the street asking for recommendations on a place to eat. They made a great choice. We loved it and will be back again.

Wow. So impressed with burger I had here as well as the atmosphere & nostalgia that this place provided for me. All the locals stared at us when we walked in, so we knew it was the vest eatery in town. Smells like a cabin inside, and I mean that in the best way possible because it reminded me of eating a meal at up north bars in rural towns as a kid. The music was unapologetically 80s/90s and once again, I mean that in the best way possible. I got the SOB Burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten in my life, and their house made horseradish pickles were an exceptional cherry on top so to speak. Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous and service was impeccable. I'll be back again.

All our food was really good! They were busy and service was a little slow, but we didn't mind at all because we were visiting with each other. The food was really good! All of us enjoyed our burgers and French fries. Though one person didn't like the onion rings. They were overcooked and hardly any onion in them. I saw a table near us get sweet potato fries and they looked really good. I'm trying those next time. They have Pepsi on tap and cans of Coke and Mt.Dew.

The staff were friendly. We we're the only customers there due to the blizzard conditions tonight. The onion rings were amazing! The SOB burger was good. The bacon cheeseburger was overcooked and dry. Mixed drink was great! I would come back to try some of the other menu items.

Great daily specials at a low price. The server stop by often to fill beverages and ask if we needed anything. Quality food and creative special that taste great. We will return even though it is almost a 45 minute drive one way.

Stopped for a quick lunch and was surprised with quick service, great food and an amazing atmosphere. Menu options were excellent and the decision was difficult, I went with a mushroom and swiss with fries. Excellent choice. Perfect cook on the burger and the fries. Rumor has it that the bloody Marys are the best around but that will have to be for a different non working day. I will be back and I hope each visit gets better
